One week down

Alright, alright, alright.  The first week of Les Mills Combat is done.  I do not know if you read my last post about the first day.  But remember when I said I felt so uncoordinated?  Well, I still do.  That first day we used my laptop and quickly realized that it was not going to work.  So we pulled out the old TV we used in the past, and it was so much better.  This time we were able to see the moves that Dan and Rachel wanted us to perform, as well as hear them.  When we did Insanity we tried to see what the workout would be like with out music (because they give you the option for music or not), and it was terrible.  The music helps motivate you and it was weird hearing only heavy breathing from Shaun T.  With that said we figured it would be more of the same with Les Mills.  So on Monday we choice the option of music and again like with the laptop a bad mistake.  It was really difficult to hear Dan and Rachel talking, firstly because they are from England and have an accent and secondly the music was so loud that it was almost impossible to hear them.  On Tuesday we choice no music and it was much much better.  There is still music in the background which helps you keep rhythm, gives you more motivation (I don't know about you but I like music when I am working out), and the biggest thing was to allow us hear what Dan and Rachel have to say.  As the week progressed, I definitely got better at the moves.  The left side of my body is still almost useless (seeing I am a righty),  but it's getting there.

I am with out a doubt looking forward to the coming weeks.  As we learn the moves, we will be able to go faster, harder, and with more intensity.  I already feel a difference and have been using muscles that I almost forgot that I had.  Stretching is always the most important part of exercise.  It helps you stay flexible keeping a good range of motion, and also helps prevent injuries by allowing you muscles to keep their elasticity.  With Les Mills Combat this is especially important.  I have used and stretched my groin muscle in this series more then I ever have before.  I am waiting for the day when I am able to get my round house kick above my head.  It will be done before this workout series is completed.  If you are looking for a different type of workout or just want to try something new, I can't recommend Les Mills Combat enough.

Hope that you all have a great weekend.
